Alone in Here - Festivals and More!
Alone in Here is a film I've been working on for three years now. I started working on the script shortly after the premiere of What Hides Within, around August of 2023. We just recently finished it after an extensive post-production process, and premiered it at Cinema Salem to an audience of friends and family on August 22, 2026.
With the film now done (well, minus the few tweaks here and there that we will always want to make), we are entering the next stage of the film process - festivals.
Our goal for Alone in Here is to get it in front of as many people as possible. For a couple of my previous films, COVID restricted our ability to screen our films at physical festivals in front of live audiences, opting instead for online, virtual festivals. These were great for what they were - a Ukrainian festival board awarded me Best Short Film Screenwriter in 2023 for What Hides Within, which was undoubtedly cool. However, the hunger persists for the in-person experience of an audience watching the film on a big screen.
Through 2027, we will be submitting Alone in Here to local festivals in New England, ones that we can attend ourselves. Some of these will be horror specific festivals, and some just general short film festivals. I'm excited to have the opportunity to meet and network with like-minded indie filmmakers and film fans.
The first of these festivals is Happenstance Horror Fest, which Alone in Here was accepted to, and will be one of 60 films (out of over a thousand applicants) to be screened on Saturday, November 7, at the Cinema Salem theater in Salem, MA.
This will most likely be the only festival Alone in Here plays at for the rest of 2026, but hopefully as we go into 2027 we will have more updates on where the film will be screened.
Some of you might be wondering where you can watch Alone in Here. Well, unfortunately most festivals make it a requirement that your film can't be publicly available to watch or stream. If you really, really, really want to watch it, email me at nathanaelmolnar@gmail.com, and I can send you the private link to the film. Alone in Here won't be streaming online until the end of its festival run, which will probably be either late 2027 or early 2028.

In Alone in Here, Georgina Snyder watches a true crime documentary about her own disappearance that very night, and has to race against time to prevent it from happening. Never Heard From Again is that full documentary Georgina watches.
We filmed the documentary in December of 2023, and originally Alone in Here featured a lot more of the story of the documentary. As we got into the post-production process of putting Alone in Here together, we realized we needed to streamline it a bit to make it more effective. We ended up cutting out a lot of what is in the documentary, including Madaline Falcone's amazing performance as Georgina Snyder's sister, Abby.
What's great is that all of this footage doesn't just exist on the cutting room floor - we have it all as part of a full true crime documentary about the mysterious disappearance of Georgina Snyder, which is online and available to watch. It expands the world of Alone in Here, giving more depth and context to the characters and story, but doesn't spoil the experience of watching the full film.
I had edited together a version of this back in 2024 for us to use on set while we filmed Alone in Here, and I had such a blast putting together this full version over the last couple weeks. I forgot just how good the footage is, and Madaline Falcone and Rachael Miles play off of each other so well. I'm very proud of it, and I think it will tide people over until Alone in Here is ready to be released.
